ABOUT Palak Puri RECIPE

Very simple and tasty puri made with spinach and spices. Can be enjoyed with evening tea!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Spinach 1 cup blanched
  2. Coriander leaves handful
  3. Green chillies 7-8
  4. Ginger 1 inch piece
  5. Carom seeds 1 tsp
  6. Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
  7. Wheat flour 2 cups
  8. Gram flour 1 tbsp
  9. Cloves 5-6
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1 tbsp Oil
  12. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Grind blanched spinach, coriander, green chilies and ginger together to a fine puree.
  2. In a bowl , add Spinach puree, wheat flour, gram flour, carom seeds, ground cloves, asafoetida, oil and salt .Knead a tight dough.
  3. Rest the dough for 10 mins.
  4. Make equal balls of dough and roll small puris.
  5. Deep fry the puris in hot oil until golden brown. Serve hot
