Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup Arhar dal
  2. 1/3 cup moong dal
  3. 1/2 cup pumpkin cubed
  4. 1/2 cup Raw papaya cubed
  5. 1/2 cup plantain cubed
  6. 1/2 cup beans chopped
  7. 1/2 cup Peas
  8. 1/2 cup potato cubed
  9. 1/2 cup Yam cubed
  10. 1/2 cup colocasia cubed
  11. 1/2 cup brinjal chopped
  12. 1/2 cup grated Coconut
  13. 1 inch grated ginger
  14. 2 green chilies
  15. 1 tomato
  16. 5 tbsp ghee
  17. 1 tbsp poncho pohoron
  18. 1 bay leaf
  19. 1/8 tsp hing
  20. 3 dry red chilies
  21. 1tsp turmeric
  22. 1 tbsp roasted cumin and red chilly powder
  23. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In pressure cooker, add dal,vegetables,water ,turmeric,salt half of grated coconut, grated ginger and green chili. Cook for 2 whistles and allow to cool
  2. Heat ghee in a pan, add Pancho phoran,bay leaf,dry red chilies,hing. Allow the masalas to crackle, add whole boiled tomato from the dal to pan. Simmer and cook
  3. Add the boiled dal with vegetables. Bring to boil. Switch off
  4. Sprinkle roasted cumin , dry red chilly powder and rest of grated coconut. Mix and serve hot
