What .... you don't have any green veggies in your fridge , don't worry about your dinner or lunch because today I am going to share you the recipe of onion gram flour curry which is quick to cook with no preparation time and tastes delicious . This goes very well with Indian flatbread (paratha) or can also be served as side dish .

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 Red onion finely sliced
  2. 5 tbsp besan or gram flour
  3. 3 tbsp oil
  4. 2 green chilies finely chopped
  5. Pinch of Asafoetida
  6. 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  7. 1 tsp Coriander powder
  8. 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  9. 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  10. 1 tsp Red chili powder
  11. 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  12. Salt to taste
  13. 1/2 tsp crushed Kasuri methi
  14. 2 cups of water

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add pinch of asafoetida, cumin seeds and cumin powder and saute for few seconds
  2. Add green chilies and onion to it. Saute them until onions are browned
  3. Add gram flour and mix properly so that lumps are not formed. Cook for 10 mins until gram flour is brown in color and smells sweet
  4. Add all the spices, salt and kasuri methi . Mix them thoroughly and cook for another 10 mins
  5. Add water little by little so that lumps are not formed and cook for another 10 mins until it bubbles and consistency is thick
  6. Switch off and transfer to serving bowl . Add some chopped scallions on top of it . Serve hot
