Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Amla/ Gooseberry -1 kg
  2. Sugar-800 gm
  3. Powdered sugar-50 gm
  4. Black salt- 1 teaspoon
  5. Black pepper- 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Heat water in a wide pan and bring it to boil.
  2. When water start boiling add gooseberry and cook them till they are soften but not mushy. Do not overcook Amla
  3. Drain water and allow to cool completely
  4. Remove the seeds and slice them.
  5. Now add sugar and mix well . Rest for 24 hours
  6. Sugar will turn syrupy. Mix well and rest aside for 48 hours
  7. Sieve amla from syrup and dry under sun for 3-4 days.
  8. Coat amla with powdered sugar, Black salt and pepper.
  9. Store it in a airtight container.
