ABOUT Palak Chakli RECIPE

chakli is one of the favorite tea time snack . Adding Palak purée gives it a lovely flavour and colour along with the nutrition.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Spinach - 1 bunch
  2. Mint leaves - 1/4 cup
  3. Coriander Leaves - 1/2 Cup
  4. Green chilies - 3 - 4
  5. Maida - 1 cup
  6. Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  7. Besan - 1/2 cup
  8. Sesame seeds - 1 tbsp
  9. Oil or butter - 2 tbsp
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Baking powder - 1 pinch
  12. Oil - to fry

Instructions

  1. Wash the greens and chop them. Add to boiling water with little salt, pinch of baking powder to retain the green color, cook for 3 minutes. Blend greens to form smooth puree
  2. In a large bowl, add three flours, sesame seeds, little salt and 2 tbsp oil. Mix them.
  3. Add puree as required and Knead to form smooth stiff dough. Keep it aside
  4. Grease the chakli mould and add the dough into it.
  5. Make chaklis and keep them on a greased surface.
  6. Heat the oil in a pan and fry them over medium to low flame until sides are crispy
  7. Drain excess oil on an absorbent paper. Allow them to cool and store in an air tight container.
