ABOUT Spinach Oats Appe RECIPE

A quick, healthy and nutritious appe recipe made with spinach, oats and semolina. A perfect healthy evening snack for kids and adults.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Ground oats 1/2 cup
  2. Semolina 1/2 cup
  3. Curd 1/4 cup
  4. Spinach puree 1/3 cup
  5. Water as required
  6. Onion finely chopped, 1
  7. Green chilies finely chopped, 2
  8. Curry leaves 10-12
  9. Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Salt to taste
  11. oil 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Mix ground oats, semolina, curd and spinach puree in a bowl.
  2. Add water to form smooth thick batter.
  3. Rest the batter for 10-15 minutes
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Splutter the mustard seeds. Add onions, green chilies and curry leaves. Saute for 2 minutes and switch off
  5. Add water as required to batter for smooth thick batter
  6. Add seasoning and salt to batter. Mix well
  7. Rest for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Grease Appe mould and heat it
  9. Add a spoonful of the batter in each mould. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low to medium heat for 5-6 minutes.
  10. Turn it over and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden and crisp from both sides.
  11. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
