ABOUT Kothimeera Miram RECIPE

Kothimeera karam is an authentic family make made using loads of fresh coriander, spiced with chillies and a touch of ginger. A spicy condiment that pairs well with steaming hot rice, serves as a spread to sandwich, works well as a dip to hot pakoras too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup : Fresh coriander
  2. 4 Green chilies
  3. 1 inch piece : Ginger
  4. 1 tbsp : Urad dal
  5. 1 tbsp : Sesame seeds
  6. 1 tsp : Cumin seeds
  7. 1/8 tsp : Turmeric
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 2 tbsp : Lemon juice
  10. For seasoning : 1 tbsp : Oil
  11. 1/2 tsp : Cumin seeds
  12. 1/2 tsp : Mustard seeds
  13. 1 tsp : Urad dal
  14. Few curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Dry roast urad dal , Cumin and sesame seeds until fragrant. Allow to cool
  2. Roughly chop the coriander leaves and stalks, ginger and green chilies.
  3. Grind roasted ingredients with chopped coriander, green chilies, ginger, lemon juice, turmeric,salt to a slightly coarse paste. Keep it aside
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Splutter Cumin and Mustard seeds. Add urad dal and saute till it turns golden brown
  5. Add the curry leaves and saute for few seconds
  6. Add the above seasoning to the ground coriander paste. Mix well
  7. Spicy green chutney is ready

I have tried this authentic South Indian dish and it came out really very well.
