Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice 1 cup
  2. Toor dal 1/4 cup
  3. 1 Carrot cut in 1 inch length strip
  4. 1/4 cup Beans cut in 1 inch strips
  5. 2 Brinjals cut in 1 inch long strips
  6. 1 Raw banana cut in 1 inch long strips
  7. 2 Drumsticks cut into pieces
  8. Drumstick leaves 1 cup
  9. 1 cup raw Mango cut into strips
  10. Tamarind paste 1 tablespoon
  11. For grinding
  12. Coconut 3/4 cup
  13. Green chili 1
  14. Chili powder 2 tablespoon
  15. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  16. Shallots 5
  17. Jeera 2 teaspoon
  18. For seasoning
  19. Mustard seeds 2 teaspoon
  20. Shallots chopped 1 cup
  21. Curry leaves 9-10
  22. 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Grind all ingredients mentioned under grinding section to smooth paste. Clean and pressure cook dal for one whistle
  2. Add rice, vegetables,drumstick leaves and ground paste. Mix well
  3. Add tamarind paste and 21/2 cup water to cooked dal and mix well
  4. Add salt and chili. Mix well
  5. Pressure Cook for 2 whistles
  6. Heat oil in small pan. Splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves , shallots and saute until shallots are translucent
  7. Add seasoning to rice and mix well. Serve warm with curd and pickle
