ABOUT Spinach Methi Murukku RECIPE

A simple green colour spiral savory snack prepared from fenugreek and spinach puree mixed with the gram flour and rice flour. A healthy snack loved by kids and adults, is a perfect evening munching snack with a cup of masala tea. Spinach fenugreek murukku is one such variety with loads of spinach, fenugreek leaves which makes it healthy and tasty too.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 1 cup rice flour
  2. 1/4 cup gram flour
  3. 1 cup spinach leaves
  4. 1/2 cup fenugreek leaves
  5. 2 green chili , chopped
  6. 1 tsp ajwain
  7. 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  8. 1 tsp salt
  9. 3 tbsp oil
  10. 1/8 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop the green leaves.
  2. Blanch leaves with little salt, baking powder and grind leaves with green chilies to smooth puree
  3. In a bowl , add both flours, sesame seeds, salt, oil, puree and mix well
  4. Knead into smooth dough. Rest for 15 minutes
  5. Grease the chakli mould and add dough into it.
  6. Make chaklis on greased sheet.
  7. Heat the oil in a wok and deep fry over medium heat until crisp and golden brown on both sides
  8. Drain excess oil on an absorbent paper.
  9. Allow them to cool completely and store in an airtight container.
  10. Enjoy them with tea or coffee.
