ABOUT Palak Na Gota RECIPE

Soft and spicy gota made with besan, makkai flour, green and dry regular spices. Famous as a street food in gujarat. People love to eat anytime with masala chai, plain curd and fried chillies.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Besan 1 cup
  2. Makkai flour/ Maize flour - 1 cup
  3. Palak/ Spinach finely chopped - 500 g
  4. Thick and sour curd 1 cup
  5. Salt 1 tsp or as per taste
  6. Sugar 1/2 tsp (optional)
  7. Dry coriander seeds 1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  9. Crushed green chili 6-7
  10. Finely chopped green garlic 1 cup
  11. Grated ginger 1/2 tsp
  12. Chopped coriander leaves 1 cup
  13. Ajwain 1/2 tsp
  14. Oil 2-3 tbsp
  15. Baking soda 1/4 tsp
  16. Water 1/2 cup if needed
  17. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl , add spinach, besan,maize flour.
  2. Add chopped garlic, crushed chili, ginger paste.
  3. Add dry spices, salt, chopped coriander leaves, curd and sugar
  4. Mix well to form smooth thick batter. Rest aside for 7-8 minutes
  5. Heat oil in a pan and add hot oil to batter with baking soda and mix well
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter in hot oil
  7. Deep fry until golden brown and crispy
  8. Drain excess oil
  9. Serve hot with fried chilies ,onion and chutney.
