ABOUT Spinach Muthia RECIPE

Spinach muthia is a famous Gujarati snack.The name is given as it is made from gripping action of hand.First i steamed it and then sauted in oil with mustard seeds and sesame seeds.Sesame seeds are good source of calcium.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Handvo flour 1/2 cup
  2. Shredded spinach 1 cup
  3. Green chili paste 1 tsp
  4. Curd 2 tbsp
  5. salt to taste
  6. soda bi carb 1/4 tsp
  7. oil 2.5 tbsp
  8. Haldi powder 1/4 tsp
  9. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  10. sesame seeds 2 tbsp
  11. Coriander leaves 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix soda ,salt and spinach
  2. Add handvo flour,green chili paste and curd. Mix well
  3. Boil water in steamer and grease a plate.
  4. Make oval shaped muthia and steam them for 15 minutes
  5. Cut them into pieces
  6. For tempering, Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds, sesame seeds
  7. pour this tempering over Muthia pieces
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves and fried red chilies
