ABOUT Chatpati Karela Chaat RECIPE

This is something very new to all of you but it’s taste is just awesome . One will even not convinced that is it really Karela Chat because we never use karela in Chaat. Just give it a try and you will be amazed

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 4 Karela( BitterGourd)
  2. Salt as per taste and extra for marination
  3. 1 tsp Red chili powder
  4. Black Pepper as per the taste
  5. 1 tsp grated Ginger
  6. 2 chopped cloves garlic
  7. 1 tsp Cornflour
  8. 1 tbsp All purpose Flour
  9. 2 tbsp Gram Flour
  10. Oil for deep frying
  11. 1 tbsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  12. 2 Cups Yogurt
  13. 1/2 cup tamarind Chutney
  14. Chat masala to sprinkle
  15. Sev bhujia to sprinkle

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the karela into thin roundels and sprinkle some salt on them.
  2. Let them rest for 10 minutes
  3. Now wash them and squeeze them
  4. Take a bowl , add them into it
  5. Add ginger and garlic
  6. Add Red chili powder, cornflour, Gram flour and all purpose flour and salt
  7. Mix them well and adjust the batter line we do while frying normal pakodis. Karelas should get coated properly with batter. You can use water
  8. Heat oil in a kadhai/wok for deep fry
  9. Drop the Karelas one by one in the kadhai/wok and fry them on medium to high flame
  10. Karela Chips are ready now
  11. Add Cumin powder and yogurt and beat it with the whisk
  12. Now add Salt and black pepper into it as per the taste
  13. Dip the karela chips in yogurt and assemble them in a plate
  14. Pour some yogurt and Tamarind Chutney on them and sprinkle some sev
  15. Chatpati karela chaat is ready to serve
