It is simple and easy gravy which goes well with rice. My family's favourite dish.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. White Pumpkin 250 gms, diced
  2. For Grinding: Coconut 4tbsp
  3. Hing 1 pinch
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Green chilies 1-2
  6. Thick curd 1 cup
  7. For Seasoning: Coconut oil 1 tbsp
  8. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  9. Jeera 1/2 tsp
  10. Curry leaves 7-8


  1. Add sufficient water and Cook White Pumpkin until tender.
  2. Blend hing, salt, green chilies, coconut to smooth paste
  3. Add thick curd to paste and mix well
  4. Add curd mixture to cooked white pumpkin and mix
  5. Lightly heat pumpkin mix without boiling it
  6. Heat Oil in a pan. Splutter Mustard seeds , Jeera. Add Red chilies and Curry leaves and mix for few seconds. Pour the seasoning on Pachadi and mix
  7. White pumpkin Thayir Pachadi ready to serve
