ABOUT Pandan Sago Steamed Cake RECIPE

Naturally coloured in green with the extract of Pandan leaves ,this sweet with low fat content becomes everyone's favourite

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Sago pearls 1 cup
  2. Pandan leaves 5-6
  3. Cornflour 1 tsp
  4. Sugar 1/2 cup
  5. Grated fresh coconut 1 cup +1 tbsp
  6. Butter 1 tsp for greasing the pan

Instructions

  1. Wash the pandan leaves and cut them into short pieces.
  2. Grind leaves with little water. Strain the juice from the mixture
  3. Soak sago pearls into this liquid for 2 hours.
  4. In a bowl, add cornflour,sugar , coconut and soaked sago. Mix well
  5. Grease a cake pan with butter, add mixture in cake pan. Steam mixture for 15-20 minutes or till sago pearls turn transparent.
  6. Cut into squares , sprinkle grated coconut over the top and serve hot.
