ABOUT Chickpeas Coconut Gravy RECIPE

When it is about "Chana "everybody gets "chole chana masala" in thier mind but here i have used coconut with chana and prepared a gravy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Kabuli Chana/Chickpeas 1 big cup
  2. 1 big Onion, chopped
  3. 1 Tomato, chopped
  4. Ginger , 1 inch grated
  5. Green chili - 2 to 4
  6. Coriander leaves 1 cup ,chopped
  7. Grated coconut 1 cup
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Jaggery 1/2 tsp
  10. Coconut oil 1 tbsp
  11. Curry leaves 10-12
  12. Jeera 1/2 tsp
  13. Dry red chili 1

Instructions

  1. Clean and Soak Kabuli chana overnight
  2. Grind grated coconut ,ginger ,green chili, coriander leaves with little water to smooth paste
  3. Pressure cook chickpeas until done, keep it aside
  4. Heat oil in a pan, add jeera , red chili and curry leaves. Saute for 1 minute
  5. Add chopped onions and saute until translucent
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until tender
  7. Add cooked kabuli chana with water and mix well
  8. Add salt, mix and bring to boil
  9. Add ground paste, jaggery and mix well, add additional water if required. Cook for 5-6 minutes
  10. Add coriander leaves and mix well
  11. Gravy is ready to be served with chapati ,phulka or dosa.
