Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. For rose syrup:
  2. Dried roses- store bought - I got them from naatu marunthu kadai/country drug store- 1/2 cup heaped
  3. Water - 2 cups
  4. Sugar - 1 and1/2 cups
  5. Rose food coloring - 1/2 teaspoon
  6. For rose milk:
  7. Chilled milk - 1 glass
  8. Prepared rose syrup - 2 to 3 tablespoon
  9. Ice cubes - as needed

Instructions

  1. Boil the water till bubbles appear. Pour it in a vessel with the dried roses. Stir for 5 to 10 seconds.
  2. Let cool down at room temperature. Let it rest in the refrigerator for 12 hours.
  3. Take it out after the 12 hrs, strain the rose water into a pan. It will be dark in color.
  4. Mix the sugar with the rose water till it dissolves and heat it up. Do not keep stirring after the sugar is dissolved.
  5. Let it simmer for 5 to 7 minutes till the consistency is sticky. When you test between your forefinger and thumb a small string will form and break. No need of one string consistency.
  6. Add food coloring towards last minute give a stir and switch off. Let it cool.
  7. Store in a clean bottle in fridge. For preparing rose milk, take a glass of chilled milk, mix with the rose syrup stir well. Add ice cubes if needed and serve chilled!.
