ABOUT Oat Crispies RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup oats, soaked and drained
  2. 1 large potato, boiled
  3. 2 tsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  4. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  5. 1 tsp cumin powder
  6. 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  7. 1 tsp muligapodi or gunpowder
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mash the potato, add the oats and all the masalas and mash well together to form a dough, sprinkle the coriander leaves over the dough and fold it all in together.
  2. If it is too dry you can add a tbsp or two of water but the dough should be firm.
  3. Heat the oil to shallow fry, wet hands and form round balls of the oats dough and fry in hot oil.
  4. Move the frying pan to coat and evenly cook the oats crispies till crisp all over.
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve hot over a dollop of ketchup.
