ABOUT Savoury Waffles RECIPE

Waffles are the most versatile dish, you can serve them sweet or savoury to serve as breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gms flour
  2. 1 tsp baking powder
  3. 20 gms fine sugar
  4. Pinch of salt
  5. 450 ml milk
  6. 2 Eggs
  7. 30 ml vegetable oil
  8. Butter to brush the waffle pan

Instructions

  1. Weigh all the dry ingredients and place them in a large mixing bowl. Break the eggs into the milk and beat the mixture well.
  2. Add the egg and milk mixture into the dry ingredients. Then add the oil and mix all the ingredients together until all the large lumps have broken up.
  3. Do not over mix otherwise the waffles will be heavy when cooked. Preheat the waffle maker and grease with butter.
  4. Pour a ladle of batter into the waffle maker and cook for 3-4 mins or until they turn golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  5. Serve with 2 fried eggs, a side of bacon and sausages and a small green salad.
