ABOUT Veldt Grape Chutney RECIPE

Adamant creeper has wonderful medicinal uses and health benefits. It mainly cures Gastritis, Indigestion, lack of Appetite, Sprains, bleeding piles and deworming. Rich in calcium. This can be prepared as chutney and can have with rice mixed with ghee.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Adamant creeper (veldt Grape) 1/4 cup
  2. Dry red chili 3
  3. Shredded coconut 1/4 cup
  4. Skinned black gram 1 tablespoon
  5. Tamarind 1 small gooseberry size
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Curry leaves 4 sprigs
  8. Oil 2 teaspoon + 1 teaspoon
  9. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  10. Urad Dal 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop Veldt grape into small pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add black gram, chilies, tamarind and curry leaves and saute for few seconds. Take it out
  3. Add veldt Grape in same pan and saute until tender
  4. Allow mixture to cool. Grind all the roasted ingredients with the coconut to form smooth chutney
  5. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds and saute urad dal until golden brown. Pour the seasoning over chutney and mix
  6. Serve it with hot rice, dosa or iddli.
