ABOUT Spicy fish gravy RECIPE

Spicy fish gravy is a good combination for rice or chapathi or jowar roti.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Raagandi fish-1( cut into 1 inch slices)
  2. Onions-3
  3. Tamarind juice-1tbsp
  4. Salt- as per our taste
  5. Red chilli powder-1tbsp
  6. Turmeric powder-1tsp
  7. Cinnamon stick- little
  8. Cloves-10
  9. Ginger-1inch piece
  10. Garlic- 1 whole
  11. Dry coconut- 1tbsp( grated)
  12. Cashews-3
  13. Oil-2tbsp

Instructions

  1. Clean and wash the fish pieces with little salt and turmeric.
  2. In a non stick vessel, add oil. When hot, add onions and saute till golden brown.
  3. In a mixie jar, blend coriander seeds, salt, ginger , garlic, turmeric, cloves, cinnamon, cashews, dry coconut and blend to a smooth paste.
  4. Add this paste to the vessel after onion becomes golden brown colour.
  5. Add tamaringd juice to it and little water and boil it for 10 min
  6. Now add fish pieces carefully and close it with a lid.
  7. Cook for 15 min and when gravy becomes thick, sprinkle coriander leaves and switch off the stove.
