An easy to make dish, this tongue tickler is ideal for fasting. As a snack, a chaat or an accompaniment it will be loved either ways.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. potatoes 250 gms
  2. peanuts 1/3 cup
  3. oil 3-4 tbsp
  4. Green Chillies 3-4 (adjust more or less to taste)
  5. Curry leaves 6-8
  6. Green coriander 3 tbsp
  7. cumin Seeds/Jeera 1 tsp
  8. black pepper powder 1 tsp
  9. cumin powder 1 tsp
  10. Black salt 1 tsp
  11. Sea salt if required to balance the salt
  12. lemon 1


  1. Wash and boil the potatoes till they are 9/10th cooked. Peel and cut into cubes.
  2. Halve and slit the green chillies, chop the coriander finely
  3. Pound the peanuts till they are broken and dehusk.
  4. Heat oil, add cumin seeds/jeera, when splutters add green chillies and curry leaves. Mix well and add the peanuts.
  5. Saute the peanuts on medium flame till they turn pinkish golden in color.
  6. Add the potato cubes and mix well, add the black salt and sea salt if more salt is required. Saute on low to medium flame for 2 minutes.
  7. Add the cumin and black pepper powders, keep sauteeing on low to medium flame till the potatoes are fully cooked and slightly crisp.
  8. Add the lemon juice and 2 tbsp of the chopped coriander. Give it a good mix.
  9. Garnish with the remaining coriander and serve hot.
