ABOUT Kashmiri kahwa RECIPE

Kashmiri kahwa tea is a typical recipe from kashmir in which kashmiri green tea is infused with spices like cinnamon,cloves and cardamom.This hot beverage is served garnished with saffron water and slivered almonds.Ideal winter drink which you will love to sip and bite on a cold winter day.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Water-1 cup
  2. Kashmiri kahwa tea leaves-1 tsp
  3. Sugar/Honey-2 tbsp
  4. Cloves-2
  5. Cardamom-2
  6. Cinnamon-1 inch
  7. Saffron strands-12-15
  8. Almonds-5

Instructions

  1. First prepare all ingredients.
  2. Now put the water in a saucepan or pan.Add cloves,cardamom and cloves to this water .Crush cardamoms slightly.Keep to boil.
  3. Put a tbsp of warm water in saffron and keep aside.Cut the almonds in slivers.
  4. Let it boil for 5 minutes.Add sugar also.If aading honey do not add now.Add lastly when we add the saffron water.
  5. When sugar melts add the tea leaves and cover with a lid.Switch off the gas.
  6. Let the flavor of tea leaves infuse in the hot water for about 2 minutes.
  7. Now take a cup and add almond slivers with saffron water.
  8. Strain the kahwa directly in this cup and drink hot.You will love the aroma of this special kashmiri tea which is very good for health too.
