Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 100 gms fenugreek seeds soaked 4 hours/ overnight
  2. 2 tbspn mustard oil
  3. 4 green chillies chopped finely
  4. 3 dry red chillies broken in pieces
  5. 1 tspn asafoetida powder
  6. 1 tbspn dry mango powder(amchur)
  7. 1 tbspn salt/1 tbspn jaggery powdered
  8. 1 tbspn sugar
  9. 1 tbspn turmeric powder
  10. 1 tbspn fennel seeds
  11. 1 tbspn coriander powder
  12. 1/2 tbspn garam masala
  13. Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Strain the soaked fenugreek seeds and keep aside
  2. In a wok, heat the oil and add asafoetida powder
  3. Then add the entire fenugreek seeds and sauté well for 5 minutes
  4. Next add salt, turmeric, coriander, green chillies and dry red chillies and sauté for another 5 minutes
  5. Add half cup water and cook covered on Low flame till seeds are soft/cooked and the water is completely dried
  6. Next add the sugar/jaggery powder, garam masala and amchur and mix well
  7. Switch off the stove and let the mix cool off
  8. After cool, Store in pickle jar and enjoy with your meals
