Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Rohu fish washed and sliced - 500 gms
  2. Mustard seeds - 2 tbsp
  3. Jeera seeds - 1 tbsp
  4. Garlic cloves -8-10
  5. Methi seeds - a little pinch
  6. Sliced tomatoes - 2
  7. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  8. Red chillie powder - 2 tbsp
  9. Salt - to taste
  10. Mustard oil for frying -1 cup
  11. Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Marinate fish with turmeric powder, salt and lemon juice for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a kadahi and deep fry both the sides of the fish pieces until slightly brown, drain and keep aside.
  3. Grind the mustard seeds, jeera seeds and garlic cloves to make a fine paste.
  4. . Now once the paste is ready, add in it turmeric powder and red chillie powder
  5. . Now heat up the remaining oil, and put the methi seeds to crackle and mix the paste in the oil and stir fry for a few minutes.
  6. Add the finely chopped tomatoes and cover it and cook in a medium flame
  7. Add the water and salt for gravy and boil it.
  8. . Now add the fried fish pieces in the gravy and cook for 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot fish curry with rice.
