Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Milk - 5 cup
  2. Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
  3. Sugar - 2 cup
  4. Water - 2.5 cup
  5. Green cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  6. Saffron - few strands
  7. For stuffing
  8. Whole dried milk / mawa - 1 cup
  9. Sugar powder - 2 tbsp
  10. Orange food color - a pinch


  1. For making malai chumchum we need to prepare cheena / cottage cheese.from five cup of milk.
  2. We mash the cheena / cottage cheese very well and make a soft and smooth dough.
  3. Divide the dough in 12 equal size balls.
  4. Roll each ball between your palms.
  5. Shape each ball to square shape of medium thickness.
  6. Now we take pressure cooker and add sugar and water and also add square shape cottage cheese / paneer ,few saffron strands and cardamom powder and steam it.
  7. When cooker release the whistle simmer the gas for 10 mins.
  8. Once cooled,we open the lid,the paneer square should be floating on the syrup and its size should be double.
  9. Take a bowl add whole dried milk / mawa,sugar powdrer and orange food color and mix well.
  10. Spread the whole dried milk / mawa mixture on the square shape of cottage cheese / paneer.
  11. Cover with other square shape of cottage cheese / paneer.
  12. Cut into half.
