ABOUT Eggless Choco Idlis RECIPE

An eggless steamed chocolate cake made with maida flour and semolina using idli maker. It is made using very less oil. Perfect for kids tiffin and snacks.

Ingredients Serving: 8

Maida - ½ cup
Semolina - ¼ cup
Cocoa powder - 2 tsp
Chocolate chunks or chips - 2 tbsps
Oil - 2 tbsp + for greasing idli pan
Curd - 3 tbsp
Sugar - ¼ cup
Milk - ¼ cup
Baking Soda - ¼ tsp
Baking powder - ¼ tsp
Vanilla essence - ½ tsp
Water as required for steaming
Colourful Sprinkles and Chocolate and caramel sauce for serving

Instructions

TAKE 1/4 CUP SUGAR, 3 TBSP CURD
ADD 1/4 TSP BAKING SODA, 1/4 CUP SEMOLINA, MIX
ADD 1/2 TSP VANILLA ESSENCE, 1/4 CUP MILK & 2 TBSP OIL, MIX
ADD 1/4 TSP BAKING POWDER, 2 TSP COCOA POWDER, 2 TBSP CHOCOLATE CHUNKS & 1/2 CUP FLOUR
GENTLY FOLD THEM INTO A SMOOTH BATTER
IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS
GREASE AN IDLI MOULD
SCOOP THE BATTER INTO THE IDLI PLATE
STEAM FOR 10-12 MINS ON MEDIUM HEAT
CHOCO IDLIS ARE READY
