Hot and Spicy Chicken Masala

Ingredients to make Hot and Spicy Chicken Masala

  • 750 gm of chicken (with bone , medium pieces)
  • Onion , ginger , garlic paste 1 medium bowl
  • 3 tsp of cumin and coriander powder
  • dahi or curd 1/2 cup
  • red chilli powder 4 to 5 tbsp
  • 2 tsp of green chilli paste
  • Ghee or clarified butter for cooking
  • 1 tsp of garam masala (cloves, cinnamon, cardamom)
  • salt to taste

How to make Hot and Spicy Chicken Masala

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with all the spices overnight (except the ghee).
  2. Heat a deep bottomed pan and add ghee , when it is hot , add the marinated chicken pieces along with all the marination .
  3. Cover it and cook till the chicken gets cooked in it’s own juices , no need to add water —
  4. Turn off the flame when oil oozes out and sprinkle some garam masala and coriander leaves for garnishing —

My Tip:

Try to use ghee or clarified butter as stated in the recipe ---avoid using vegetable oil for an enhanced taste.
