ABOUT METHI SPROUTS WITH POTATO RECIPE

Tiny golden methi /fenugreek seeds have abundant medicinal properties. But due to their bitter taste we usually ignore it. Sprouted methi seeds not only reduces the bitterness to minimal also increases the nutrients content. Try this spicy lip smacking methi sprouts with potato recipe. It is served as side dish with roti and rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Methi dana sprouts 2 cup
  2. Potatoes medium 3
  3. Oil 1 tbsp
  4. Cumin seeds 1 tesp
  5. Salt 1 tesp
  6. Red chilli powder 1/2 tesp
  7. Turmeric powder 1/2 tesp
  8. Green chilies 3
  9. Lemon juice 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. For methi sprouts soak half cup methi/fenugreek seeds overnight.
  2. Next day wash them and drain. Wrap in a moist cloth and leave to sprout for two days, washing them in fresh water once every day. Third day sprouts will be ready.
  3. Peel and cut potatoes in dices. Wash them.
  4. Heat oil and splutter cumin seeds.
  5. Add diced potatoes and chopped green chilies.
  6. Add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Toss well. Cook covered.
  7. When potatoes are about to done add washed sprouts. Sprinkle some water and cook covered till potatoes are completely done.
  8. Remove from fire. Sprinkle lemon juice. Toss well and dish out.
