ABOUT Sweet Potato Schezwan Chakali RECIPE

Quick and healthy chakali prepared from rice flour, poha, sago flour, schezwan sauce and sweet potato. It tastes awesome and good option for snack.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Rice flour - 1 cup
  2. Roasted Flattened rice flour - 1/2 cup
  3. Roasted Sago/sabudana flour - 4tbsp
  4. Oil - 1/2 tbsp for kneading+ 2 cup frying
  5. Schezwan sauce - 1/2 cup or 4 tbsp
  6. Sweet potato - 3/4 cup or 5 tbsp (boiled and blended)
  7. Salt to taste.
  8. Water for kneading flour

Instructions

  1. IN A BOWL TAKE 3/4 CUP RICE FLOUR. ADD 5 TBSP SAGO & 5 TBSP ROASTED POHA FLOUR. ADD 1/2 TBSP OIL.
  2. ADD SALT AND 1/2 CUP BOILED, BLENDED SWEET POTATO AND 4 TBSP SCHEZWAN SAUCE.
  3. MIX IT THOROUGHLY.
  4. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER. START KNEADING.
  5. KNEAD IT INTO A LITTLE STIFF DOUGH. COVER AND KEEP ASIDE.
  6. KNEAD AGAIN. DIVIDE THE DOUGH INTO 3-4 EQUAL PARTS. ADD INTO CHAKALI MOULD & PRESS OUT CHAKALIS.
  7. PRESS OUT ROUND WHIRLS OF THE DOUGH ON A PLATE. PINCH START & END TO CLOSE THE CHAKALI.
  8. KEEP ALL CHAKALIS READY FOR FRYING.
  9. IN A WOK OR PAN, HEAT 2-3 CUPS OIL.
  10. GENTLY SLIDE CHAKALI INTO THE OIL. ALWAYS FRY THEM ON LOW MEDIUM FLAME FOR EVEN COOKING.
  11. FRY THE CHAKALIS ON LOW MEDIUM FLAME TILL THEY TURN LIGHT BROWN AND CRISP FROM BOTH THE SIDES.
  12. DRAIN ON ABSORBENT PAPER, COOL AND STORE IN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER.
