ABOUT Easy Bhatura RECIPE

Bhatura is a fried leavened bread made with maida (all purpose flour)

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Maida 1/2 cup
  2. Sooji (fine semolina) 1 tablespoon
  3. Oil 1/2 tablespoon
  4. Sugar 1/4 tablespoon
  5. Salt 1/2 tablespoon
  6. Baking soda 1/4 tablespoon
  7. Curd 1/2 cup
  8. Water for kneading as required
  9. Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Sieve the maida, sooji, baking soda, sugar and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add curd and again mix well.
  3. Add water in intervals and knead to a smooth and soft dough.
  4. Cover the dough with wet napkin and keep aside from 2 hours.
  5. After 2 hours make a medium size balls from the dough.
  6. Apply oil while rolling and roll round or oval shape.
  7. Heat the oil in kadai. Drop the bhatura in hot oil and it will start puffing within a minute.
  8. When sizzling of the oil stop, turn over and fry the other side.
  9. When bhatura turn light golden, drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  10. Serve hot bhatura with chole or any other curry.
