The nutritional benefits of carrots and beet are known to us for Long and we keep making halwa using them, especially in winters. Combining it with the goodness of the super fruit, Apple makes this a very desirable dessert for all. Being sugarfree makes it no less sweet and yummy! It’s a Super easy and time saving halwa, once you have all the ingredients ready. A-B-C(Apple-beet-carrot) halwa provides the right nutritions, maintains iron and vitamin supply in growing babies and expectant mothers.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 50 gms grated beetroot
  2. 50 gms grated carrot
  3. 1 small apple grated after washing,coring the seeds
  4. 20 gms fresh/refrigerated mava/khoya
  5. 1 tbsn ghee
  6. 10 gms sliced almonds for garnish
  7. 5 gms chopped pistachios for garnish
  8. 2 tbsn powdered palm jaggery

Instructions

  1. Melt ghee in a wok over medium heat
  2. Add the grated carrots and beet and sauté for 5-7 minutes /till veggies are wilted and soft
  3. Add the grated Apple and mix well
  4. Add mava, palm jaggery and mix well until combined and the halwa has reached the desired consistency
  5. Serve toddlers warm garnished with sliced almonds and chopped pistachios
  6. Pregnant women can have this halwa hot
