ABOUT Ragi porridge( for infants above 3 months ) RECIPE

Ragi is a miracle food which boosts our energy, rich in iron, healthy and nutritious food. Suppose, if baby is in need of some additional food apart from mother's milk, then ragi is a perfect choice.From 3 to 6 months, Ragi should be given without mixing with any other gluten flours. After 8 months, soaked almonds paste can be mixed with ragi flour to prepare porridge.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 1 tbsp ragi flour( home made- soak ragi in water overnight and drain them in a colander for few hours. Next spread them on a cotton cloth and allow them to dry in sun. Grind them to a fine powder and seive in a muslin cloth)
  2. Water- 1 cup
  3. Jaggery- 1/4 tsp

Instructions

  1. Wash hands and then start cooking for any recipe related to infants.
  2. In a pan, add water and jaggery and boil . Now filter this jaggery water into another pan and continue boiling in slow flame.
  3. In a small bowl, add little water to ragi flour and mix well without lumps.
  4. Add this ragi liquid to the boiling jaggery water and keep stiring . Cook till it gets semi liquid consistency and turn off the flame. Allow it to cool for some time.
  5. Feed baby with a small spoon when ragi porridge is warm.
  6. Warm food is always good for good digestion .
