ABOUT Dal Bati RECIPE

Dal Bati is an exotic Rajashthani dish that goes with gatte ki sabzi and sweet called churma. Dal bati is a whole meal dish (carbohydrates +protien). In this way I will discuss ways of making dal bati and mind it, this is one of the easiest exotic dish which requires minimum ingredients and can be made any where in the world.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup of suji (rawa)
  2. 2 cups of whole wheat flour
  3. 1 tbsp of ajwain
  4. 4 tbsp of ghee
  5. 1/2 cup of fresh curd (optional)
  6. 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  7. water for kneading the dough
  8. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a pot, knead the dough to a soft consistency and leave it for 30 minutes. Then take a few drops of oil (ghee) and water and then knead the dough again softly.
  2. Pre heat the gas tandoor and make small balls of the dough. Arrange them in the gas Tandoor.
  3. Close the lid of the tandoor, make the flame of the glass medium. Change the sides of the batis frequently in 7 - 8 minutes.
  4. Do this until all the bati's are done and have a crust. Immediately after removing them from tandoor dip them in a pot of ghee.
