An extremely awesome idea to keep those hunger pangs at bay especially in between next meals. What i did here is to use dates and almonds and made them into balls that are similar to peanut brittle and can be enjoyed as snacks. This is an even more healthy take on this popular snack by me with the use of dates that are extremely beneficial and full of dietary fibres instead of jaggery . And the best part is that, they are softer and not crunchy. The elderly can munch on these guilt free snacks without any bother at all. They are useful for children and adults alike. Dates and Sesame Balls...

Ingredients to make Dates and Sesame Balls...

  • sesame seeds slightly roasted 1 cup
  • dates pitted 3/4 th cup
  • almonds chopped finely or powdered 1/2 cup
  • cardamom powder 2 pinches
  • butter or ghee 1 tbsp

How to make Dates and Sesame Balls...

  1. In a tablespoon of ghee, lightly roast the sesame seeds for 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. Keep the flame on low and stir in between to avoid excess of colour change due to roasting.
  3. Gather the rest of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  4. Cool the roasted sesame seeds and add them to the bowl.
  5. Mix well and shape into balls of preferable size.
  6. Store them in airtight containers and munch on during those unstoppable hunger pangs.
  7. They make an excellent brunch idea and pre dinner meal too.
