ABOUT Aam Doi Cheere (Flattened Rice-Mango-Yogurt Dessert - Bengali Style) RECIPE

A personal favourite of mine, this healthy and a refreshing dessert is also a family recipe. It can be relished anytime of the day. There is no cooking involved and is ready in a jiffy. Hence it is perfect for young and old alike.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup mango puree
  2. 1 cup yoghurt
  3. 1/2 cup flattened rice / poha (I used brown poha)
  4. sugar to taste
  5. pinch of cardamom powder
  6. 1 tsp. rose water
  7. 2-3 tbsp. raisins
  8. few dry fruits to garnish
  9. Pinch of saffron to garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash the poha 2-3 times and soak in water for 10-15 minutes or till it gets soft.
  2. Drain and mix with all the other ingredients. Serve in individual bowls / glasses garnished with dry fruits and saffron.
