ABOUT Karnataka's Pride Bandli/Kadai Akki Roti RECIPE

This is truly Dedicate to my Mother and Im inspired from her.The speciality of this rotti is that I have added the freshly methi leaves grown in my home garden

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Rice flour 1 cup
  2. Salt 2 tbps
  3. Methi leaves a bunch full nice chopped
  4. Jeera 3 tbps
  5. Cooking oil 3-4 tbps
  6. Chillies - 2 -4
  7. water - 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, Add rice flour, finely chopped fresh methi leaves, jeera and salt with the oil and slowly knead the mixture and make a dough
  2. Keep aside the dough for about 3 mins and take a bandli(Kadai) and put a 2 tbsp of oil and grease over it and take a small lemon sized dough in hand and place on it
  3. now slowly pat it using fingers to form an even shaped and place it on the stove in medium flame and allow it to roast.
  4. Now enjoy the crispy hot rotti with Ranjaka(Red chilly chutney ) as called in North Karnataka and enjoy it with tea
