ABOUT Matar Pulao RECIPE

This is a perfect rice dish, made with green peas, to be served just on its own or some raita on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Basmati Rice in 1 1/2 cup
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Peas 1 cup
  4. Jeera [cumin seeds] 1 tbsp
  5. Green cardamom 4
  6. Black Cardamom 1
  7. Cinnamon 2
  8. Tej patta [bay leaf] 2
  9. Cloves 5
  10. Ghee 2 Tbsp

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1.5 CUPS BASMATI RICE
  2. WASH WELL
  3. SOAK IN WATER FOR 30 MINS
  4. HEAT 2 TBSP GHEE IN A PAN
  5. ADD 1 TBSP CUMIN, 2 BAY LEAVES
  6. ADD IN ALL THE WHOLE MASALAS
  7. SAUTE
  8. ADD IN RICE
  9. SAUTE ON LOW HEAT 4 MINS
  10. ADD 1 CUP GREEN PEAS
  11. SAUTE FOR 3 MINS ON MEDIUM HEAT
  12. ADD SALT TO TASTE
  13. ADD 1.5 CUPS OF WATER
  14. MIX
  15. COVER & COOK FOR 10 MINS ON MEDIUM HEAT
  16. MATAR PULAO IS READY
