Ingredients to make Dalia Pulao / Daliya Upma

  • 2 cup Dalia
  • 4 cup water
  • 2 cup Chopped veggies( Green peas,carrots, French beans, onion, green chillies,capsicum , bellpepper ,cabbage)
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 4-5 Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 handful chopped coriander leaves

How to make Dalia Pulao / Daliya Upma

  1. Roast dalia with 1 tbsp ghee in Kadhai on low flame till it turns aromatic.
  2. Heat ghee in the pressure cooker, add mustard seed, pepper, cumin seeds and cloves to it .
  3. When it starts crackling add all chopped vegetables and sauté it for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add water salt to it.When water starts boiling add roasted Dalia to it and mix it nicely.
  5. Close the pressure cooker lead and let it cook for 1 whistle.
  6. Once the vegetables and broken wheat is properly cooked, turn off the flame and transfer the Daliya Upma in a serving bowl.
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot .

My Tip:

Additionally, add garlic and ginger for more flavours and adjust the consistency of mixed vegetable dalia by adding water as required.
