ABOUT Rava drink and porridge RECIPE

This dish can be given to babies as well as pregnant women. It can be prepared in thick porridge form so that it can be given easily to babies and for pregnant women it can be prepared as a drink by just increasing the quantity of milk and decreasing the quantity of rava. Rava can be introduced to babies when they are about 6 months old. But instead of cows milk it can be substitued with formula milk. It has many uses as it is tummy filling and is very easy to prepare. It is also rich in carbohydrates, protein and iron.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Milk - 1 cup
  2. Roasted Rava - 2 tablespoons
  3. Onion - 2 teaspoon finely chopped
  4. Sugar - 1 1/2 tablespoon
  5. Ghee - 1 teaspoon
  6. Cardamom powder - 2 pinches
  7. Cashews - as required( for pregnant women)

Instructions

  1. First pour ghee in a non stick pan.
  2. Then add onion to it.
  3. Pour in milk.
  4. Add two tablespoons of sugar to it.
  5. Allow it to boil and add cardamom powder.
  6. Add roasted rava to it while stirring continuously.
  7. Stir it to prevent forming lumps
  8. Once it thickens remove from flame and serve.
  9. Garnish the drink with cashew.
