Khicri is a simple and easy dish to make which is very healthy as well.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1cup rice
  2. 1 cup yellow moong dal.
  3. 2tsp desi ghee
  4. Salt
  5. 1/4tsp cumin seeds
  6. 1/4tsp black pepper
  7. 1/4tsp turmeric powder.
  8. red chilly powder - 2 pinches

Instructions

  1. In a cooker add dal, rice, turmeric powder and some salt.
  2. Add required amount of water and cook till 4 whistles.
  3. Make a tempering of cumin seeds and caraway seeds, chilly powder in some hot oil.
  4. Pour this on the khichri.
  5. Serve hot.
