This is a quick recipe for thosai made with wheat and maize flour, a perfect quick breakfast option, made in a jiffy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Maize flour - 1 cup
  3. salt
  4. oil [for roasting the thosai]
  5. For the chutney :
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Onion chopped -1/2cup
  8. Curry leaves - one bunch
  9. Mustard seeds -1/2 teaspoon
  10. Oil -2 teaspoon
  11. Red chilly -2
  12. Tomatoes - 6

Instructions

  1. Mix the flours add salt and water mix like thosa batter keep aside for 30 minutes
  2. For chutney : Heat kadaai add oil and mustard seeds , once they splutter, add onion, curry leaves, red chilly and saute well. Then add the tomatoes and salt, saute well until the tomatoes are cooked [do not add any extra water].
  3. After about 5 minutes, switch off the flame and keep aside. Now heat a non stick pan and grease it with little oil, pour a ladle of the batter made earlier and spread like a thosai.
  4. Add little oil on the sides and cook from both sides, serve it hot with the chutney.
