ABOUT Crispy Tomato Gobi RECIPE

True Bangaloreans know that when it rains it ought to be the best filter coffee, bajji , onion pakoda or mangalore bajjis. This time I wanted to treat my taste buds with something different. I had one cauliflower floret in the fridge, so here I go with a different gobi recipe that you can prepare as a evening snack.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Cauliflower : 1
  2. Tomato : 2
  3. Jeera : 1 tbsp
  4. Coriander leaves: 4 tbsp
  5. Dry red chillies : 14
  6. Ginger-garlic paste : 1 tsp
  7. Corn flour : 3 tbsp
  8. Gram flour : 4 tbsp
  9. Salt as required
  10. Oil to deep fry

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean the cauliflower, then boil it with water and salt. Remove the cauliflower after half an hour. Now blanch the cauliflower florets by adding water for 10 mins. (Note that this should be half cooked.)
  2. In a mixer jar, add together the red chillies, ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves, jeera, corn flour, gram flour, water. Grind to form a fine paste. Now add the strained cauliflower in this mixture with a little salt (note that salt has already been added while boiling).
  3. Mix it well together and let it rest for a while. Then deep fry them in hot oil.
  4. Serve hot with tomato sauce. Happy Snacking!
