Kadi pakoda

Ingredients to make Kadi pakoda

  • 250 gm curd
  • 2 tbsp besan (for the kadi batter]
  • Half tea spoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup besan [for the pakodas]
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Half tea spoon red chili powder
  • Pinch hing [asafoetida]
  • Half tea spoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
  • oil
  • dry red chilly - 2

How to make Kadi pakoda

  1. Take besan in a bowl, add salt, red chilly powder and add required amount of water to form a thick pakoda batter.
  2. heat ample amount of oil in a kadhai, put drops of the batter and dry pakodas, strain them, keep aside.
  3. Now heat 1 tsp of oil in a sauce pan, add asafoetida. Then add the turmeric powder and saute. Now add 2 cups of water and let this mixture boil.
  4. Now whisk the curd and ad 2 tsp of besan in it, mix it well.
  5. Now add this whisked besan curd into the boiling water and cook until the gravy thickens. Switch off the gas once the mixture thickens.
  6. Now heat some oil in a tadka pan, add the cumin seeds and coriander seeds followed by dry red chillies.
  7. Now add the above tempering into the boiling gravy, add the pakodas into the same and mix it. Serve.
