ABOUT Spicy Baked Potatoes RECIPE

This is the starter I made for the valentine theme based meal. It was our favourite dish of the lot. Its sure a winner with a crispy outer layer and soft insides. Try it and you will surely be so pleased. I referred grilled potatoes recipe which was prepared in airfyrer by Chef SanjeevKapoor. I baked it in OTG oven by altering the recipe a bit.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Potatoes, medium sized- 6
  2. Chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
  3. Pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Garam masala - 1/4 teaspoon
  5. Amchur powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Salt - as needed
  7. Butter melted -2 tablespoon
  8. Cheese grated - 2 tablespoon
  9. Coriander leaves - for garnish alone

Instructions

  1. First wash the potatoes, peel their skin. Make slits in their body horizontal wise(maybe 4 to 5 slits in each).
  2. Preheat oven to 160C for ten minutes.
  3. Mix the chili powder,pepper powder, amchur powder , garam masala and salt in a bowl.
  4. Sprinkle the spice mixture prepared on each of the potatoes. Reserve a little for use at the last step.
  5. Place each potato on a piece of aluminium foil. Drizzle few drops of butter on each. Wrap the with the foil and arrange on baking tray.
  6. Bake in oven for 30 minutes. Check one of the potatoes if done and bake longer if needed.
  7. Now take the tray out, open up the foils, sprinkle some more spice powder on each and some grated cheese.
  8. Place back in oven for two to three minutes with the foils open and set the oven to heat only the top rod(grill mode). Remove when the cheese melts.
  9. Take it out and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot!.
