Soya chunks fry is good side dish for variety rices.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. To boil:
  2. 1 cup small soya chunks
  3. 1 cup water
  4. 1/2 tsp salt
  5. To Saute:
  6. 1 tablespoon oil
  7. 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  8. 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  9. 1/4 cup onions,chopped
  10. 2 garlic cloves,chopped
  11. Salt as required
  12. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  13. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  14. 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  15. For garnishing:
  16. Few chopped corainder leaves
  17. Few curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Boil water with salt in a pan for 5 mins in high flames,add soya chunks and switch off the stove.Leave it for few mins.Wash it with cold water twice,Squeeze water from the soya chunks.
  2. Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds and fennel seeds.Let it splutter.
  3. Add onions,garlic and fry for 2 mins.Then add chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt to the pan,fry till the raw smell goes in a medium flame.
  4. Add soya chunks and fry for 15 mins in medium flame.stir it in few intervals.
  5. Finally add pepper powder and garnish with corainder leaves and curry leaves. Serve hot with lemon rice.
