Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For makke ki roti
  2. 500 gm maize flour
  3. 1 tbsp grated radish
  4. 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Warm water
  7. Carom seeds 1 tsp
  8. For sarso ka saag
  9. 500 gm mustard leaves
  10. 150 gm palak
  11. 100 gm bathua leaves
  12. 50 gm methi
  13. 50 gm radish leaves
  14. 2 to 3 inches radish roots
  15. Salt to taste
  16. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  17. 2 onions chopped
  18. 2 tomatoes
  19. 3 green chillies chopped finely
  20. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  21. For tempering
  22. 1 bay leaf
  23. 1 tsp cumin seed
  24. Onion tomato ginger garlic and chilli paste 1 tbsp
  25. 1 tsp garam masala
  26. 1 tsp chilli powder, 1/2 tsp amchur
  27. N/A


  1. For makke ki roti: Knead all the ingredient listed under roti with warm water. Keep aside.
  2. For saag. Clean all the greens and put in presure cooker along with the ingredient listed under saag. Cook for 4 whistles.
  3. Cool down and blend it all together with 1 tbsp maize flour.
  4. In a pan heat oil and add the bay leaf and cumin seeds. Add the paste and cook for a few minutes. Add all the masalas and add the blended saag.
  5. Sinmer for a good 30 to 35 min, until the oil starts oozing out.
  6. Now make rotis of the maize flour by placing it in between paper or zip lock bag.
  7. Serve makke ki roti with butter on top and garnish the sarso ka saag with cream.
