Gud papdi

Ingredients to make Gud papdi

  • jaggery-1/2 cup
  • wheat flour-1 cup
  • ghee-1/2 cup
  • cardamom powder-1/2 tsp
  • Dry ginger powder-1/2 tsp
  • Some almond slivers(optional)

How to make Gud papdi

  1. Heat ghee in a thick pan.
  2. Add the wheat flour and roast till the flour becomes fragrant and changes colour.
  3. Now switch off gas and keep storing so that the mixture cools down a bit.
  4. Add cardamom powder and ginger powder.
  5. After the flour cools down a bit add grated jaggery and mix properly till it mixes well with roasted flour.
  6. Now put the mix in greased thali and level it with spatula or back of flat bowl.Sprinkle the almond slivers.
  7. Cut into squares with a knife.Let it set and cool down.
  8. Cut and store in a container and enjoy .

My Tip:

Traditionally no dryfruits are added to gud papdi but if you wish,you can add any dryfruit of your choice.
