Apple khichri is very good for toddlers and of course adults also enjoyed as a confort meal .It is full for nutrition ,easy to digest ,full of fibers ,yummy in taste . So please try once ,i m pretty sure you will enjoy a lot.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3/4cup basmati rice
  2. 1/4cup moong dhuli dal
  3. 1 apple pureed
  4. 1/4apple finely chopped
  5. 1 table spoon chopped onion
  6. 1/2cup chopped vegetable ( beans,cabbage ,peas)
  7. 1/2cup chopped tomato
  8. Saltas per taste
  9. 1/8 teaspoon cumin
  10. 1 pinch asafoetida
  11. 1/4teaspoon turmeric
  12. 2 table spoon clarified butter


  1. Wash and Soak dal and rice together fir 1/2an hour.
  2. Heat ghee in a wok add asafoetida and cumin. allow to crackle.
  3. Add onion, saute till translucent and pink.
  4. Add chopped vegetables of your choice.
  5. Add salt, turmeric cook for 2 minutes
  6. Add dal and rice in cooker and add vegetables and 3 cups water .
  7. Cook it for 2 whistle.
  8. Cool down the cooker add apple puree in it .Mix well
  9. For toddlers mash little with your hand instead of mixer .
  10. Add fine apple chunks while serving .
  11. Serve hot .
