ABOUT Gobhi Shimla Mirch ka Saalan... RECIPE

An easy simple to do side dish that is not only healthy but tasty too. It can be served with rice and rotis both. Lovely colour and little bit on the tangy side due to the addition of tomatoes. Perfect for a mid day meal or even a lovely dinner with your loved ones.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Cauliflower florets and stalks 2 cups
  2. Capsicum diced 2
  3. Tomatoes chopped 2
  4. Onion sliced large 1
  5. Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  6. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  7. Curry powder 1 tsp
  8. Coriander powder 1 tsp
  9. Coriander leaves chopped 1/4th cup
  10. Green chillies chopped or sliced 2
  11. Asafoetida 1/8th tsp
  12. Oil 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat oil and add the ginger garlic paste and green chillies.
  2. Saute for a minute and add the rest of the spices.
  3. Now add the sliced onions.
  4. Saute until translucent.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes now.
  6. Followed by the cauliflower florets and diced capsicum both.
  7. Cover and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
  8. Open the lid and adjust salt accordingly.
  9. Saute until the oil starts separating and a thick masala is formed due to tomatoes and onions.
  10. Garnish with lots of chopped coriander leaves.
  11. Serve hot as a side dish to your favourite meal.
