Orange Cake

Ingredients to make Orange Cake

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cup cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup non flavour oil
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 tbsp Orange zest
  • 3/4 th cup fresh Orange juice
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

How to make Orange Cake

  1. Take the flour ,3/4 cup sugar and baking powder and whisk it together
  2. Separate the eggs
  3. Take butter ,oil ,egg yolks, vanilla extract, Orange juice and Orange zest and beat the mixture
  4. Add the flour mixture and mix well
  5. Take the egg whites and the augar little at a time and start whisking it
  6. Beat the egg whites till stiff peaks appear
  7. Keep adding the sugar till the entire sugar is used up
  8. You will have a beautiful stiff peaks
  9. Gradually add little by little egg white mixture into the yolk mixture
  10. Gently fold the egg whites
  11. Take a greased bunt pan and add the batter
  12. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 45 to 50 mins
  13. Or until the colour of the cake turns golden
  14. Let the bunt cake cool a bit and then gently turn it upside down on a cooling rack
  15. Let the cake cool
  16. Serve it as it is

My Tip:

Grease the bunt pan very well with Amul butter.Prefer Malta orange zest.Use the pulp along with the juice.
